System Care: Solar Performance & Maintenance

Once your system is up and running, we keep it that way. Terra monitors every system in real time and handles all maintenance, repairs, and updates for you. This section covers performance, weather impacts, and what to do if something ever looks off.

Can I adjust my system size?

Yes! Your system is initially designed based on your current energy usage to ensure optimal performance and savings. However, we understand that energy needs can change—whether you're adding a home office, installing a pool, or your household is growing. Terra Energy offers flexible options to upgrade or modify your system accordingly. Our team will assess your new usage and make any necessary adjustments to keep your energy solution aligned with your lifestyle.

If the grid goes down, do I still lose power?

Yes—unless you have a battery backup installed, you will lose power during a grid outage. This is because grid-tied solar systems are designed to automatically shut down during outages to prevent backfeeding electricity, which could endanger utility workers making repairs. However, with a battery backup system, your solar energy can continue to power essential parts of your home even when the grid is down, giving you greater energy independence and peace of mind.

Will solar damage my roof during a hurricane?

Not at all—in fact, solar panels can actually add an extra layer of protection. When properly installed, they provide additional rigidity to your roof structure and can help shield it from wind, rain, and flying debris. At Terra Energy, our systems are securely mounted into the trusses of your roof, ensuring maximum durability and hurricane resistance. And for your peace of mind, we take full responsibility for any damage caused by our solar panels. Your safety and your home are always our top priorities.

We handle it all so you can enjoy the benefits of solar without worrying about upkeep or surprise expenses.

Will I be able to monitor the system?

Absolutely. With Terra Energy’s user-friendly mobile app, you can monitor your system’s performance anytime, anywhere. The app gives you real-time access to key data like energy production, historical performance, and system health. It’s designed to keep you informed and in control, so you can see exactly how much clean energy your system is generating—and how much you're saving.

What equipment manufacturer does Terra use?

Terra Energy uses only Tier 1 solar equipment sourced from top-rated manufacturers known for their performance, reliability, and durability. We work with a range of trusted brands to ensure your system is built with high-quality components that best match your home’s energy needs and efficiency goals. Our commitment to premium equipment means you can count on long-lasting performance and peace of mind.

Does Terra offer batteries? Can I install my own battery?

At this time, Terra does not directly offer battery storage systems as part of our energy solutions. However, we recognize the growing demand for energy independence and backup power, and we are actively exploring battery storage options to better serve our customers in the future.

If you’re interested in adding a battery to your current setup, you may install your own battery system—pending review and approval by Terra.

This ensures that the installation meets our safety and compatibility standards, and aligns with local regulations and your current energy plan.

To move forward with installing a battery, we recommend contacting our support team for guidance on the approval process and technical requirements. We’re here to help you make the most informed and seamless decision for your energy needs.

Stay tuned for updates, as battery storage options may be added to our offerings soon!
