Interconnection is the process of connecting your solar system to the utility grid. It involves submitting an application to your local utility provider to install a bidirectional (net) meter, which tracks both the energy your system produces and the electricity you use from the grid. Once approved and the meter is installed, your system can be activated, and you'll start generating clean energy while benefiting from net metering if available.

If your roof needs repairs, our team will work with you to evaluate the best path forward. In many cases, customers choose to complete roof repairs before installation to ensure the solar system has a stable, long-lasting foundation. If roof issues arise after installation, we’ll help assess the situation and coordinate removal and reinstallation of the system as needed. Your home’s safety and structural integrity are always our top priorities.

Yes, you will still be connected to the grid. With Terra Energy’s solar subscription, your home remains connected to your utility provider to ensure a consistent and reliable power supply. This connection allows you to draw electricity from the grid during times when your solar system isn’t producing enough energy—like at night or on cloudy days.

Most utility providers charge a small monthly fee to maintain this connection. For example, with FPL (Florida Power & Light), this fee is typically around $25 to $30 per month. Staying connected ensures uninterrupted access to power while maximizing the benefits of your solar system.
